Summer is hands-down my favorite season! Living in the desert means we spend just about every chance we get at the pool, the lake, or running through the splash pads. And with three little ones in tow, I’ve learned that packing the right gear can make all the difference.

After countless pool days (and plenty of trial and error!), I’ve found the products I truly won’t leave home without. These are the tried-and-true favorites that make our outings easier, more fun, and a whole lot less stressful.

If you’re getting ready for summer adventures with your littles, you’re going to want to add these to your cart! From keeping kids safe and comfortable to making mom life just a little easier, these are my top five pool essentials that we use every single time we head out.

1. Swim Diaper Covers

After having one of the absolute worse experiences with my daughter at a community pool when she was little, I WILL ALWAYS make sure I have diaper covers as well. So my 18 month old goes in the water with a regular disposable pool diaper, a diaper cover like these pictured above, and then his swim suit. These covers have also been great for us because they are adjustable and can be used for every stage/size!

2. Mambobaby Pool Float

I cannot say enough good things about the Mambobaby pool floats. This is our second summer using this and it just keeps getting better. My 18 month old not lays on his stomach in this and swims all over the pool kicking his little legs. He even prefers to ride in it than be held in the water. It’s a lifesaver and I am so glad that I spent the extra money and went with this float.

3. Puddle Float Jumper Floaties

Another must-have in our outings, however, my daughter is almost getting to the stage where she no longer needs it. While we have lifejackets when we go out on the lake, my daughter always prefers these floaties because they are more comfortable for her to swim and jump in the water without leaving any marks or rubbing her skin.

4. Clip on Goggles

Although I personally prefer the regular old goggles that has a nose cover, both of my children love these anti-fog clip on goggles. We don’t have any issue with leaking and the clip on backs make them way easier to put on. We spend a lot less time tightening, fixing, or untangling hair with these. Neither of my kiddos use the nose or ear plugs, but I do think it was a great addition to send with the goggles.

5. Diving Jewels

We have had so many diving toys over the years, but this little treasure chest filled with jewels always seems to be the one that gets pulled out of the swim bag time and time again. The chest and jewels both are both well made and of good quality. I was surprised at the sturdiness of the chest. We have had so much fun with this set the last few summers.
